My LulaRoe Journey!

I'm beyond excited that I  joined the LulaRoe Sisterhood. In fact people stop me at the store, at the mailbox, and everywhere I go to tell me how much they love my leggings and of course I tell them how excited I am to be part of such an incredible company. 

There are also people I haven't seen in awhile who ask what I'm up to. Which instantly brings us to the following conversation. I'm a LulaRoe Consultant!

 "It's LulaRoe, like lu- Lue like the man,  Fa la la la, Row, row row your boat. Lue La Row"

 "LulaRoe is a clothing company with AHHHMAAIZING buttery soft leggings. Have you heard of them?"

"Oh Yeah! Those wild printed leggings?! Like the ones you have on." 

LulaRoe sells some pretty cool patterns but they also make solids and are even make dresses, skirts, shirts, cardigans, kids clothes and even men's clothing.

The next question is usually... "Can I see a catalog?"

So that is another special thing about LulaRoe! There isn't a catalog to order from. Each consultant carries their own inventory  (it's more personal) and the inventory she chooses to carry is different for each one. The consultants don't even know what prints they will be receiving in their shipment. It's a surprise to everyone involved. Another unique part of the company is that LulaRoe only creates 5000 pieces of each print. That is only 5000 prints of that particular item in the entire world!!! So this creates what we call a "Unicorn." A Unicorn is a coveted print that people will search to the ends of the earth to find.

Which brings up HOW we sell the items fairly. There are a couple of ways to sell LulaRoe. One is to have an in home pop up (party) where the hostess earns free merchandise for how many items the people at her party purchase. FREE!!! This is a very generous amount because that is what LulaRoe wants us to do. Be generous.

I've been onboarded as a LulaRoe consultant since June and have paid most of my investment off! I would have paid it off sooner but I wanted to grow my inventory quickly. I LOVE my job! Maybe an Azure is Actually a Cape??

   I signed up to become a LulaRoe consultant on 3-5-16 and waited for months to get
"THE CALL". The call came on 5-17-16! I was over the moon excited! My order was
on it's way but without leggings. I was still very hopeful and have worked hard to build
my VIP"S group by giving away a ton of prizes. I invested a great deal of money into a
company I believed and still believe in. They encourage generosity, courage and positive
body image for all sizes. I've recently had a hard time because people aren't wanting to
host a party. This could be a hard place to be and I was feeling pretty down about not
wanting to let down my family. However, I am determined, I have not fought to get this
far for nothing. This is not to have anyone feel bad at all! I have met so many incredible
people and have been selling things well. I'm trying to express how sometimes negative
brain chatter changes the way we view things. It's all about perception.

  While doing a little retail therapy in my own LulaRoe shop, my nine year old son saw
me try on a couple different outfits ,which I didn't think anything of because my boys
like to help me out in my Lula room. 

 When I hear his little voice say "mom you should get that one!" He points and jumps
off the chair.

I respond with a smile and ask, "you think so? You like this one?" I look down
 at the blue and red Azure skirt I had tried on just for fun because it is way out of my comfort
zone. I have not taken one thing out of my inventory so far because I wanted to earn money
to purchase leggings.

"Yeah, it's for a super mom." He says with a huge smile.

I'm not going to lie, I may have shed "some" tears. It's not a color I would generally wear...
But maybe I need that gentle reminder once in awhile of how someone besides myself views
me. From a mom with depression who's had a long, hard couple of weeks but has NOT lost
determination.

 THIS IS MY ITEM! 

 Sometimes it's is the gentle reminders of how blessed we are with opportunity and not the
whispers of depression which creep into the fabric of our soul planting seeds of self doubt. 

  So I may not have leggings yet but... I will focus on the Azures that I do have and help all
the other supermom's find their own  "Super Mom cape," to wear around their waist. 

Oh and I can't forget how many ways there are to wear your "cape."

Things to Do While Waiting to Onboard With LulaRoe

There is an endless list of things to do... So I put my wait to good use. I thought it may help you also.

3. Set up your bank account. I set mine up as a personal account but some people set it up as a business account. Be prepared to have several forms of ID in this name.

4.  Sign up!

5. Do the 72 hour game plan over and over in the time you have.

6. Set up USPS and or UPS. Closer to onboarding Stamps.com or Shipping Easy. How will you mail your things? I personally bought sticky shipping labels to print right on my computer and I use shipping easy.

8. Take photos of yourself and how you Roe each day.

9. Figure out what kind of inventory tracking system you will be using. I'm using an excel spreadsheet.

10. Set up expense tracking system.

12. Closer to your onboarding date, band together with others to do Loops or pass the scopes.

13. Design or purchase your graphics (you can find many in the bin assets on My LulaRoe.

14. Figure out the ins and outs of how you plan to take pictures of your inventory. Will you need lighting or a backdrop (I bought a 3 X 5 and it was WAY too small, I'd get much bigger). Mannequin?
I started with a mannequin but this is much easier and less expensive! I would reccomend getting two so if you have help, someone can get the other one dressed while you are taking the photo.

20. Storage? Clothing racks,bins, shelves.

21. Are you having a Lularoom?

23. Make a list of supplies you may need.

24. Study the styles, so when you do host pop-ups you will be prepared. It's recommended that you build deep before going wide with more styles. Women like choices so carrying between 8-15 of each size in each style is the sweet spot!

25. Decide if you will be doing in home pop-ups, or all online.

26. Hostess packet and rewards you plan to offer.

27. What will you charge for shipping? I personally charge $3. per item or $6. for 2+

28. How will you transport your inventory and displays? Most people use the Frakta Ikea bags that are 20 Gallons. There are some great videos out there on how to do this keeping your clothes on the hangers.

29. Figure out your signage.

30. Draft a business plan.

31. Draft a social media schedule. The more you post the more people will see you.

32. Will you use any accessories, belt, earrings, necklaces, sunglasses, shoes in your photos?

33. Draft verbage of giveaway posts, group posts, emails. Be ready!

34. Are you doing a fashion newsletter?

35. Will you have a blog?

36. Think about how you will pick winners. Will you use random.org ect.

My Why is, Why the Hell Not?

 By now I’m sure you’ve heard or seen the name LulaRoe. What the Hell is it and why are there so many people OBSESSED with this LulaRoe. LulaRoe's a clothing company focused on positive body image for all women. There should never be shame for the skin you live in although I see and have experienced it often myself throughout the years. Finally! A company based on what real women need and want. Fashion meets comfort and there doesn't need to be any guilt because you can earn FREE clothes just by hosting a pop-up at your home. Who doesn't love free clothes?

 In LulaRoe one of the first things you will hear is to think about your "why."  Why do you want to be a LulaRoe consultant? There is no wrong answer and it differs from person to person. I've honestly pondered this question since I first heard about this amazing company. A company that wants to empower women through positive body image of every size. Take the shame out of being a woman and leave behind the old way of thinking people are "too skinny or too chubby." 

 I've suffered from depression for a very long time and took a couple of years off from work to get better and work on me. I wrote a novel to help me heal and bleed out the pain while I was home. I understand how the mind can be. In that time I also learned that the number of people who also suffer with mental illness is staggering. I'm very open with my struggle because of how alone I felt, I don't want anyone else to think they are the only one. I am here without judgement if you need to talk. I've shared my own personal story many times over and I will continue to do so, to help others know that they are not alone. 

There is hope, I promise. 

 LulaRoe helps real women earn REAL money and not miss out on anything else in their life. A life without guilt?! Full time, part time, on the side, as a hobby... It all works. With this company you get what you put into it. As little or as much time as you would like. The choice is yours!

No sales pitch or competition involved in LulaRoe. They want their consultants to be generous and help other women. So as I'm sure you can see my why in my blog title. It's why the hell not. Why wouldn't I want to be part of this beautiful movement? The only reason I could see to not join LulaRoe was the financial start up money to get my initial inventory. Yes it is a steep investment for a family of five to invest in a business. However there was no other reason I wouldn't want to be part of LulaRoe. It's everything I need in my life right now. 

I want to help other women learn to love themselves.

Lulababy: A new consultant

Unicorns: A hard to find print/ pattern or one print that is their own magestic magical print the person is looking for which is Unicorn Hunting.
